Questions people ask
Do I need to file if my employer already deducted TDS?
Usually yes, if your income is above the basic exemption limit. Filing is also the only way to claim back extra TDS as a refund. We check your case before advising.
I missed the due date. Can I still file?
For income earned in 2025-26, you can file a belated return until 31 December 2026. Interest and a late fee may apply, and some losses cannot be carried forward.
What is the “tax year”?
Under the Income-tax Act, 2025, the year you earn income in is called the tax year. It replaces the old “previous year” and “assessment year”. The first tax year is 2026-27.
Can you help with a notice about my return?
Yes. Send us the notice and the return it refers to. We explain what the department is asking and prepare a reply for your approval.
