How it is worked out
- Monthly contributions grow at the expected return until your retirement age.
- At retirement, the share you choose buys an annuity, and the rest can be withdrawn as a lump sum.
- The monthly pension is estimated as annuity amount × annuity rate ÷ 12.
- Returns and annuity rates are not guaranteed. The minimum annuity share depends on PFRDA rules for your account; check the current rule before you retire.
Questions people ask
Is there a tax benefit?
Contributions can reduce your tax within limits, more so in the old regime. Ask us how it applies to you.
Can I change the expected return?
Yes. Try a few figures to see a range of outcomes, as actual returns depend on the funds you choose and the markets.
